Drama on the hunt. A 24-year-old murder has been solved in Crimea, it’s a pity that the criminal is on the run
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Crimea, a criminal investigation has been completed against a resident of the Saki district accused of murder (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The investigative department for the Bakhchisarai region established that on the evening of July 23, 1999, a company of tourists on the plateau of Mount Ai-Petri met a 32-year-old hunter, in whose company it was decided to spend the night. At night, after drinking alcohol, a man, left alone with a 24-year-old tourist during a conflict, fired a shot from a gun in his chest. The victim died on the spot from his injuries. The defendant fled the crime scene.
Investigators, together with colleagues from the police, organized work to study the circumstances of the murder 24 years ago, during which the identity of the attacker was established and irrefutable evidence of his guilt in committing a particularly serious crime was obtained. It was also established that the defendant was hiding from the preliminary investigation authorities in the territory of another state, and therefore he was put on the international and federal wanted list. The investigation charged him in absentia— reported in Sledkom.
The criminal investigation has been completed. The materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for the purpose of studying, approving the indictment and sending the case to court.
