Drug lab liquidated in Kerch

It has been preliminarily established that a 38-year-old local resident set up the production of «synthetics» in a garage for the purpose of further sale in the city. The sale of drugs was to be carried out in direct contact with the buyer. As a result of a search of the garage premises, police officers found and seized containers with components, equipment for the production of prohibited substances, drug residues and other items of evidentiary value. In addition, operatives found four packages with a powdery substance in the suspect’s car, — the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea reported.
According to the expert’s conclusion, the contents of the packages submitted for examination included the psychotropic substance amphetamine weighing approximately 220 grams.
The investigator of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Kerch initiated criminal cases against the suspect under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — attempted illegal sale of narcotics on an especially large scale and Part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — illegal production of psychotropic substances on an especially large scale.
The article provides for a penalty in the form of imprisonment from 15 years to life.
The defendant was remanded in custody as a preventive measure.
