Due to abnormal heat in Crimea, the load on the power grid has increased. Sergey Aksyonov: «There is no threat of energy deficit»
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Sergey Aksyonov explained that the accidents primarily arose in conditions of increased loads on the energy system due to the use of ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. At the same time, the most difficult situation at the moment has developed in Alushta.
In the urban district and adjacent areas, after the accident on the gas pipeline, the load on the electrical networks has increased significantly, — said the Head of Crimea, adding that in connection with the extreme heat, the number of emergency teams of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea «Krymenergo» has been increased, and work to restore the disrupted power supply is underway.
The head of the republic added that on July 8, peak power consumption was 1194 MW, the figure was recorded at around 15:00.
However, despite the increase in consumption, we have enough of our own capacity, and Crimea is not threatened by an energy deficit.— the Head of Crimea emphasized.
In order to reduce the load on the power grid, Sergei Aksyonov called on residents and visitors of the republic to refrain from turning on powerful electrical appliances at the same time or to turn them on one by one, using electricity sparingly.
REFERENCE. Abnormal heat is forecast throughout Crimea until July 11. The average daily air temperature is 7 degrees above the climatic norm. The air temperature may reach 38 degrees.
