Dumb “life hack” from the “smartest” Crimean: how to break traffic rules, but don’t pay fines
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A driver in a car with false license plates was driving along the roads of Crimea.
Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Leninsky District detained a Crimean citizen who was driving a car with false license plates.
The head of the State Traffic Inspectorate, Anatoly Khudyakov, and the commander of the traffic police department, Paruir Khachatryan, stopped a Geely Atlas car driven by a 33-year-old resident of the Krasnodar Territory at 61 km of the highway. When checking the documents, the police found that this vehicle has registration plates that are different from those actually installed. During the investigation, it became known that the original license plates were in the trunk of the car; the man independently attached the license plates he had in storage from previously deregistered vehicles to a new foreign car. The driver explained his action by saying that he wanted to avoid possible fines from cameras recording violations for exceeding the speed limit.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The «life hack» didn’t work. And now the “smartest” driver will not get off with just one fine. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate drew up two administrative protocols in relation to this driver:
— for the offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 12.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Installation of knowingly false state registration plates on a vehicle.” The violator was given an administrative fine in the amount of 2,500 rubles;
— for driving a vehicle with obviously false state registration plates, a protocol was drawn up under Part 4 of Article 12.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, for which the driver faces deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to one year.
