During the New Year holidays, more than 8 thousand families congratulated in the garrisons of the Southern Military District

During the New Year holidays, as a result of events held in formations and military units of the Southern Military District (SMD), more than 8 thousand families of military personnel, large families, families of veterans who died during the Great Patriotic War received congratulations. In total, in the first decade 44 of the year, more than 2.3 thousand propaganda and cultural and leisure events were held.

Only cultural institutions of the Southern Military District during the New Year holidays organized about concerts by their creative teams, as well as song and dance ensembles of the Southern Military District and the Black Sea Fleet. The artists congratulated the servicemen who are being treated in medical battalions and hospitals, serving in daily attire and on combat duty. Also, in the cultural institutions of the garrisons of the Southern Military District, children’s New Year’s parties were held , — the press service of the district reports.

The command of the Southern Military District, together with the commanders of the formations of the military district, took part in the All-Russian action «Wish Tree». During the New Year holidays, wishes were fulfilled for 44 children. Boys and girls visited military units, rode modern military equipment and flew helicopters, visited historical museums and all received gifts from Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden.
