During the year in Crimea, 141 fake banknotes were identified

In 2024, 141 fake bills were identified in the banking sector of the Republic of Crimea — this is 23 units less than in 2023.

Less often in the region there were fake banknotes with a face value of 50 and 500 rubles — one bill. Also over the past year, 7 two thousandth, 25 thousandth and 107 five thousandth banknotes were identified.

We have been observing the trend towards a decrease in the number of fakes in the region for several years— notes the head of the Bank of Russia branch in the Republic of Crimea Igor Tsvetkov. — However, when handling cash, it should always be vigilant and double -check them at the calculation site.

You can independently check the authenticity of bills in three ways: to the clearance, by touch or changing the angle of view. If the banknote is in doubt, you can contact any commercial bank to check it.
