Opening of the Museum-Field Complex «New Khersones» took place July 30, 2024. July 28, on the Baptism of Rus’, he was consecrated. For the first 100 days of his work More than a million people visited.

The “New Chersonesos” was built on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin and with the blessing of the Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ Kirill. 30 objects were built on an area of 24 hectares, including the Museum of Christianity, the Museum of Antiquity and Byzantium, as well as the Museum of Crimea and Novorossia. In addition, an open-air temple appeared on the territory, the Griffin Arena amphitheater and the reconstructed quarter of Khersones from the times of Prince Vladimir.

The creation of the park was preceded by the most large -scale archaeological research in modern history. The museum-guard complex was created in incomplete two years. In this territory there were military units that were moved to modern buildings.
