Earth, Earth… Luna-25 station transmits signals to Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
And from the Crimea, via a secure communication line, information from Luna-25 arrives in the Moscow region at the Mission Control Center of the Lavochkin Research and Production Association.
Signals from the Russian station launched to the Moon are received by the National Center for Control and Testing of Space Vehicles, located in the Crimea. In order for researchers to be able to observe the Luna-25 automatic interplanetary station at the Moscow Region Central Control Center, the Crimean telecom operator Miranda Media Group provided a secure communication line. The station was launched to the Earth’s natural satellite on August 11. Its main task is to study the soil of the satellite, the magnetic field, the state of the plasma, temperature and other data. To do this, researchers need closed, secure communication channels, one of which was provided by Miranda Media.notes «Sevastopol newspaper».
Luna-25 is to become the first station in history to land on the South Pole of an Earth satellite. Its serial number is a connection with previous Soviet expeditions.
