If you are already planning a vacation for 2024 and want to “win” as much as possible in money when going on vacation, you can highlight the most “profitable” and most “unprofitable” months of 2024. So, the most profitable months for using vacation will be July and October. August will be a little worse. In third place are April, September, November and December.

Using vacation during these months, you should not lose much money compared to your salary. And using vacation, for example in July or October, you can even gain in income.

You can also highlight the most unfavorable months of 2024 for going on vacation. The most unfavorable month will traditionally be January. Then we can distinguish June, May, March and February. If you choose to take vacation time during these months, you may lose money (in vacation pay) compared to your salary. During these months it is profitable to work and receive wages for the time worked.

What is the logic behind determining profitable and unprofitable months? The short answer to this question is that the fewer working days there are in a month, the more unprofitable it is to take a vacation that month.

According to the law, the presence of non-working holidays and officially established days off in a calendar month is not grounds for reducing wages for salaried employees. That is, for example, if an employee receives 50,000 rubles. (salary) per month, then having worked 17 days in January 2024 and worked, say, 23 days in July 2024, the employee will still receive 50,000 rubles. But due to the fact that the number of working days in a month is different, the cost of one day of work will also be different.

Therefore, in a month where there are few working days, it is more profitable to continue working so as not to lose income at the end of the month. And in months where there are many working days, it is beneficial to take a vacation. Then the amount of vacation pay may not greatly affect the usual amount of income per month, and in the most profitable months it may even lead to an increase in income.
