Eight-month-old taxi passenger injured in accident in Sevastopol

The accident on Kombat Neustroev Street, in which an 8-month-old taxi passenger was injured, occurred on July 22.

At 13:35, a 47-year-old driver of a Volkswagen failed to keep a safe distance near house No. 53 on Kombat Neustroyev Street and collided with a Suzuki car driven by a 33-year-old driver moving in the same direction. As a result of the accident, a minor passenger of the Volkswagen, who was being carried in his mother’s arms in the back passenger seat without a child restraint system, received various injuries.— the details of the road accident were announced by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

The Sevastopol State Traffic Inspectorate officers immediately arrived at the scene. During the inspection, no signs of intoxication were found in the drivers. An administrative case was filed against the car owner for violating the rules for transporting children.

The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of Sevastopol warns drivers, including parents, on strict compliance with the Traffic Regulations regarding the transportation of children.

According to paragraph 22.9 of the Traffic Regulations of the Russian Federation, the transportation of children under 7 years of age in a passenger car and the cabin of a truck, the design of which provides for seat belts or seat belts and an ISOFIX1 child restraint system, must be carried out using child restraint systems (devices) that correspond to the weight and height of the child.
