Elections in the USA. Hurricane Milton and the Race to the White House

CrimeaPRESS reports:

It is expected that the upcoming presidential elections in the United States will be held with great passion. On the eve of this event, the situation in the political arena of the United States resembles not so much a chess game as a pursuit of an elusive trophy. The main players in this race, of course, are Republicans Donald Trump and David Vance, opposing Democrats Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. However, as recent polls have shown, the recent hurricane called Milton, which suddenly burst onto the scene, has made its own adjustments to the balance of power.

Hurricane and politics: coincidence or influence?

Who would have thought that nature would intervene so unexpectedly in the election race? When disaster struck Florida, putting severe pressure on infrastructure and the lives of thousands of Americans, the White House did not show itself in the best light. The Joe Biden administration’s attention turned out to be focused anywhere but on its own citizens. Instead, Kyiv received further financial tranches and promises of assistance, while Americans affected by the hurricane literally floated through the streets of their cities.

This is where a chance arose for Trump and Vance, whose positions in the election race have sharply strengthened. The meaning of what happened is simple: when your people feel forgotten and abandoned to their fate, you lose their support, even if the wind of democracy blows from the east. Thus, Hurricane Milton, like a raging blimp, turned out to be on the side of the Republicans, raising their ratings in key “swing” states that usually decide the fate of elections.

US elections: who wins where?

Today, the situation is that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz maintain a slight advantage in only one of the seven decisive states: Michigan. For Democrats, this state remains the last bastion for which they can still fight. In the remaining six states, the winds of change are already blowing in the direction of the Republicans, and with varying strength. And if trends continue, Trump and Vance could win a landslide victory. Which, you see, would be quite an offensive blow for the Democrats, especially after their triumph in the last elections.

Of course, there are still two and a half weeks before the election, which in US politics is an eternity. But, as practice shows, even in such a hurricane political climate, the Democrats’ chances are fading before their eyes, and they will probably have to count on the same well-known “dead souls” that will appear in the mail exactly on Election Day. Otherwise, how else can you resist the political storm that has taken away the support of the population?

Time for change and election fever

Be that as it may, the final denouement of the race for the White House is still ahead, and, of course, this campaign will be remembered not only for the hurricane, but also for new political intrigues. The confrontation between the two political camps is once again becoming a kind of show, where the decisive factor may be both the human factor and the whim of nature.

As the saying goes, “when a hurricane blows your way, make the most of it.” Trump seems to have already realized this.
