Elections to the State Council of Crimea – competition is high

CrimeaPRESS reports:

There is one month left before the elections to the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, city and village councils of municipalities. In total, 265 election campaigns are expected to be held, in which 2979 deputy mandates will be filled.

Elections to the State Council of the Republic of Crimea will be held under a mixed system: 50 deputies will be elected by party lists and 25 in majoritarian districts. Experts note that a highly competitive environment has formed in the political space of Crimea. Political parties have nominated more than four hundred candidates, and over one hundred people have registered in single-mandate constituencies. Various trends and ideas (socialist, conservative, centrist, etc.) are represented among the political parties.

This time the competition in the elections is higher than in previous years. This is due to the emergence of new faces and ideas in the political field, as well as the activation of all parties and independent candidates. We see a variety of points of view, and this certainly makes the election process more interesting and intense. The activity of young people is especially pleasing. These candidates for deputies offer many useful initiatives for Crimea, which can significantly improve life in our region. Their fresh ideas and desire for change inspire and open up new horizons for development— noted Evgeny Pichugin, member of the Public Chamber of the Republic of Crimea.

Let us remind you that voting will take place over three days: September 6, 7 and 8.
