Elizaveta Popova from Simferopol took silver at the Russian Cup in mixed martial arts

The strongest athletes from 31 regions of the country took part in the competition. They fought for titles in ten weight categories among men and five among women. In the women’s category up to 65.8 kg, silver was won by Elizaveta Popova from Simferopol (KSE «Tornado», coach — Pavel Stepanov). In the final, our countrywoman lost to Daria Pirogova from the Belgorod region, reports «Crimean sport».

Following the results of the Cup, Elizaveta Popova was included in the Russian national team to prepare for the World Championship, which will be held on November 21-25 in Khanty-Mansiysk.
