Last week, 5 traffic accidents occurred on the roads of Sevastopol, in which 1 person died and 10 were injured of varying severity, including two minors.

Over the past week, traffic police officers have identified 664 administrative offenses, including 25 drivers driving a vehicle in a state of intoxication, 2 of which repeatedly, for which criminal liability is provided, 78 drivers violated the rules for driving a pedestrian crossing, 28 drove into the oncoming lane in violation of traffic rules— reported in the State traffic inspectorate of Sevastopol.

What about since the beginning of the year?

Since the beginning of the year, 263 accidents with victims have been registered in Sevastopol, in which 14 people died and 322 were injured. The largest number of road accidents was recorded on Friday, the most emergency time from 15:00 to 18:00 in the evening, 197 accidents occurred during daylight hours, 66 during the dark.

Of the dead road users — 7 drivers, 6 pedestrians and 1 passenger. Fatal accidents occurred through the fault of drivers due to their non-compliance with traffic rules: discrepancy between speed and specific conditions, driving into the oncoming lane— specified in the traffic police.

Also, for 6 months of this year, 14 accidents involving drunk drivers occurred on the roads of Sevastopol, in which 6 people died and 13 were injured. In all accidents, the fault of drivers in a state of intoxication was established. In addition, 50 road accidents involving children were registered, in which 54 minors were injured. In 9 cases, the children themselves violated the requirements of traffic rules, in the rest, the fault of the drivers was established.

For 6 months, traffic police officers identified 652 drivers in a state of intoxication, of which 74 got drunk behind the wheel again, 2155 did not provide an advantage to pedestrians, 731 drove into the oncoming lane in violation of traffic rules, 939 pedestrians violated the rules for crossing the road— specified in the State traffic inspectorate.

This week, traffic inspectors will carry out preventive measures in Sevastopol «Carrier», «Beacon», «Search», «Pedestrian crossing» and «Drunk driver».
