Emergency in the Kirov region of Crimea. A 14-year-old boy drowned in the North Crimean Canal

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Investigative Committee and the prosecutor’s office are conducting an investigation into the death of a 14-year-old schoolboy from the Kirov region. The child drowned in the North Crimean Canal.

On the afternoon of June 18, the young man’s mother contacted law enforcement authorities with a statement about her missing son. While combing the area on the bank of the North Crimean Canal near the village of Novopokrovka, the guy’s personal belongings were discovered, and during search operations on the night of June 19, his body was found with signs of drowning in the water.

It was established that there were no injuries or signs of violent death on the minor’s body. This area is not intended for swimming, has a dangerous current, and there are warning signs. As part of the inspection, all necessary activities are carried out, examinations are appointed— reported in Sledkom.

The prosecutor’s office added the following information:

During the inspection, an assessment will be made of the fulfillment of legislative requirements in the field of ensuring the safety and protection of the rights of minors, the completeness and effectiveness of the work of the bodies of the prevention system, as well as the completeness of the measures taken by authorized bodies and officials to ensure safety at water bodies.
