Emergency Situations Ministry rescuers conducted training exercises at the Sevastopol Center for Culture and Arts
CrimeaPRESS reports:
To extinguish the fire that broke out on the stage and save the victims — such actions were performed during the exercise by fire fighters of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the city of Sevastopol. The training events were held at the Sevastopol Center for Culture and Arts.
According to legend, as a result of a short circuit in the equipment on stage, a fire occurred and the fire began to spread throughout the auditorium. The institution’s employees were unable to liquidate it on their own. The alarm was announced and information about the fire was transmitted via the 101 line. Before firefighters arrived, the facility administration evacuated employees and visitors— said the emergency department.
In a matter of minutes, the first units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene, who, having assessed the situation, declared a second (increased) level of fire and requested additional forces.
To get into the premises, through which, according to the plan, toxic smoke had already spread, rescuers formed gas and smoke protection units and conducted reconnaissance. We inspected all floors, including the basement. It turned out that four employees of the institution did not have time to leave the building. The simulated victims were promptly evacuated using a life-saving respiratory and vision protection device and transferred to a medical team for examination.
63 personnel and 14 pieces of equipment were involved in fire-tactical exercises. The personnel coped with all the tasks perfectly: all people were found, all were saved— Alexander Mitrofanov, Deputy Head of the Fire Extinguishing and Emergency Rescue Service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the city of Sevastopol, summed up the results of the exercise.
