Emergency water main in Yevpatoria will be repaired by the end of the year
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The emergency sections of the water pipeline in Yevpatoria will be repaired by the end of 2024, 2 billion rubles have been allocated for these purposes. This was reported to TASS by the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities of the Republic of Crimea. Earlier, due to water main breaks in May-June, Yevpatoria and nearby villages remained without water supply.
Using funds from a special treasury loan, 2 billion rubles were allocated for the major repairs of emergency sections of the Yevpatoriya water pipeline with a total length of 13.98 km. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in 2024, — the response to the request says TASSsigned by the Deputy Minister of Housing and Public Utilities of the region Roman Voskolupov.
Overall, according to him, losses of drinking water in the engineering networks of the Republic of Crimea have decreased by 11 million cubic meters per year over 10 years thanks to the modernization of old and construction of new water supply and sanitation networks.
Over 10 years, more than 21.7 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal and republican budgets for the modernization of public utility infrastructure facilities, and work has been completed on 624 facilities.— the deputy minister said.
He recalled that 1.7 billion rubles were allocated from the National Welfare Fund for the reconstruction of 6.6 km of sewerage networks and 3.2 km of water supply networks in the cities of Alushta and Kerch, as well as the reconstruction of the disinfection system in Feodosia and Kerch, which will bring the quality of drinking water up to sanitary standards.
Wear and tear of networks
Earlier, the regional authorities noted that in some settlements of the republic the percentage of network wear reaches 80%. The high percentage of network wear means that most of the drinking water simply does not have time to reach homes. It is lost along the way, due to which citizens do not receive utilities of the proper quality, and enterprises face an increased financial burden.
According to the regional Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities, the actual provision of the population of the Republic of Crimea with centralized water supply is 98.5%, including: urban — 99.8%, rural — 96.7%. The average specific water consumption in the Republic of Crimea per capita is 140 l/day.
