Employees of «Artek» and activists of the Popular Front put in order the monuments to the heroes of the war

According to the press service of the Artek International Children’s Center, monuments to the partisans of Crimea, located on the territory of the Krymsky National Park, which is part of the Federal Budgetary Institution «Crimea Complex» of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, were put in order for the Great Victory Day. Employees of «Artek» took part in the action together with activists of the Popular Front in the Republic of Crimea.

During the fascist occupation during the Great Patriotic War, partisans were active, who repulsed the enemy, fought courageously and made an invaluable contribution to the Great Victory. On the territory of the Krymsky National Park there are monuments that were put in order by Artek employees together with activists of the Popular Front.

One of the monuments is installed on the Chuchelsky pass. This place was of great strategic importance during the war years. In the area of ​​the Chuchelsky Pass, heroic partisans, the director of the Alushta bakery Anatoly Guryev and Nina Snezhkova, who worked as a teacher before the war, and after it began as the director of the Alushta school, died.

Every year, on the eve of Victory Day, we are engaged in the improvement of monuments dedicated to our heroic past. Partizan Nina Snezhkova was a teacher. In the Year of the Teacher and Mentor, we remember all the teachers of our great country who made an invaluable contribution to the victory over fascism— said Konstantin Fedorenko, director of the Artek International Children’s Center.

Partisan camps of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd districts were located on the territory of the Krymsky National Park. The partisans undermined the rear of the fascist invaders, diverted their forces from the Soviet Army. Being experienced scouts, they reported valuable information to the headquarters, climbed impregnable cliffs, inspected the terrain and the location of enemy troops, blew up bridges, derailed trucks and cars, guns, burned fuel, and destroyed telegraph lines.

Popular Front activists delivered a piece of flame taken from the Eternal Flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden of the Moscow Kremlin to the memorials. The patriotic action «The Fire of Memory» is being implemented by the all-Russian public movement «People’s Front «For Russia» with the participation of the Foundation for Social and Cultural Initiatives and DOSAAF of Russia.

This is our first stop after meeting a part of the flame of the Eternal Fire. It is very important for us to visit this place and pay tribute to the memory of the partisan heroes— said the head of the regional executive committee of the Popular Front in the Republic of Crimea, Alla Vertinskaya.

The protesters laid flowers at the monument and honored the memory of the fallen heroes of the Great Patriotic War with a moment of silence.
