Employees of «CRIMEA-SPAS» saved more than 600 people in 2023

During the reporting period of activity, the units of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «CRIMEA-SPAS» carried out 2,703 trips, of which 228 search and rescue operations of a natural nature, 193 rescue operations of a man-made nature, 65 ASR on the water.

The Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Sadakliev, reported that during the reporting period of activity, the units of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «CRIMEA-SPAS» carried out 2,703 trips, of which 228 search and rescue operations of a natural nature, 193 rescue operations of a man-made nature, 65 rescue operations on the water.

Thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of rescuers, more than 600 human lives were saved,” the minister’s press service quotes.

The divisions of «CRIMEA-SPAS» regularly carry out preventive work in their areas of responsibility. In total, 551 preventive measures were carried out in 2023. In order to improve the level of child safety culture, CRIMEA-SPAS specialists conducted 90 open lessons for the younger generation of the Republic of Crimea.

According to the Minister, the most resonant and significant rescue operations with the participation of CRIMEA-SPAS employees throughout 2023 were the evacuation of the population from flooded areas and the elimination of the consequences of dangerous weather events in the municipality of Evpatoria, Leninsky and Black Sea regions.

In order to increase the effectiveness of the response, 164 employees were trained in the profession: “Sailor Rescuer”, 12 newly hired employees under the “Initial Training of Rescuers” program, and 6 people received the qualification “Diver of 4-5 categories”.

In September of this year, the Dzhankoy rescue team of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «CRIMEA-SPAS» was awarded a certificate for carrying out rescue operations.

The detachment’s area of ​​responsibility includes 24 settlements and several important socially significant objects. Let us remind you that thanks to the leadership of the Republic, in 2022 it was possible to expand the staffing level of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea “CRIMEA-SPAS” and create a new detachment in the Dzhankoy district.

This year, thanks to the support of the Head of the Republic of Crimea, the Institution purchased 9 unmanned aerial vehicles, 44 sets of anti-fragmentation equipment necessary for carrying out activities in conditions of increased terrorist danger, 9 collective first aid kits, 310 individual dosimeters, 20 radiochemical reconnaissance devices, 3000 filtering respirators and 85 protective suits. -1.

As the head of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «CRIMEA-SPAS» Andrey Nazarenko noted, the main tasks for 2024 are: construction of a modular building for the Sudak rescue squad; maintaining high combat readiness of emergency rescue teams, conducting educational and training activities, providing equipment, equipment, and property; organizing events aimed at improving social protection and increasing the prestige of the rescuer profession; preparation of buildings and structures, machinery and equipment for the autumn-winter period of operation.
