Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations checked fire safety in Sevastopol churches
CrimeaPRESS reports:
This coming weekend, Orthodox believers will celebrate one of the greatest church celebrations — the Bright Resurrection of Christ. By tradition, thousands of Sevastopol residents will take part in religious events. In places of worship in our region — there are 51 in total — employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry conduct preliminary preventive examinations for compliance with fire safety requirements.
Today we are carrying out preventive measures in one of the most important places of worship in Sevastopol. This is St. Vladimir’s Cathedral in Chersonese. The ancient city of Chersonesus is considered the cradle of Orthodoxy: according to legend, it was here that the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir was baptized, from here the covenants of our faith went with him and his squad across the lands of Rus’. Therefore, it is in St. Vladimir’s Cathedral that festive services always become the most massive, they are attended by both citizens and pilgrims. Compliance with fire safety rules here we checked comprehensively: starting from the availability, serviceability, expiration dates of primary fire extinguishing equipment — ending with the condition and accessibility of escape routes and exits, the safety of appliances, the integrity of electrical wiring. The conclusion is this: the norms and requirements are observed here, there are no violations — which means that the religious building is ready for mass festive services., — sums up the next raid senior lieutenant of the internal service, senior inspector of the territorial department of the department of supervisory activities and preventive work of the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia for the city of Sevastopol Vladlena Yurlova.
With those responsible for fire safety and with the clergy at this facility, as well as at others, the inspectors conducted briefings and explanatory conversations, reminding them how to act in emergency situations. In addition, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations handed over leaflets to parishioners in hamakhs telling about safety rules.
During the divine services, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia will be on duty in all churches in Sevastopol. In total, it is planned to involve 56 personnel. Also, prompt response to possible incidents will be ensured by involving fire and rescue equipment.
