Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol took the Oath
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The ceremony, dedicated to the 305th anniversary of the creation of the Russian police, was held at the memorial complex in memory of the employees of the internal affairs bodies — the defenders of the city during the Great Patriotic War.
Traditionally, the beginning of the ceremony was marked by the introduction of the banner of the Office and the sounding of the Anthem of the Russian Federation performed by the orchestra of the cultural center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Before the start of the solemn ceremony, the Acting Chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Sergei Sigunov, delivered a welcoming speech. He reminded those present that on June 5 (May 25, old style), 305 years ago, Peter I in 1718 established the post of chief of police in St. Petersburg. This day is considered the beginning of the history of the Russian police. Sergei Sigunov called on the employees of the internal affairs bodies to fulfill their official duties with honor and dignity and congratulated them on a significant event. After the announcement of the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, more than 40 young police officers who took the Oath swore an oath of allegiance to the Russian Federation and its people— noted in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol.
After the end of the official part of the event, the police took a commemorative photo at the foot of the memorial.
