Employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations check churches before Easter

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On the eve of Easter, employees of the Department of Supervision and Preventive Work carry out preventive visits to churches and temples to ensure the safety of believers during services.

The day before, at the Feodosia Cathedral of the Kazan Mother of God, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations held a seminar-meeting with the rectors of the churches and their representatives. During the seminar, fire safety briefings were conducted and reminders were given on compliance with safety requirements during public events.

In addition, inspectors of the state fire supervision checked the condition of evacuation routes, emergency exits, the functionality of fire alarm systems, warning systems and management of evacuation of people in the event of a fire.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea reminds parishioners to comply with basic fire safety rules:

Be careful when lighting candles from candlesticks, roll up or hold the sleeves of your clothes, when tying a scarf, remove your hair — this will help reduce the risk of candle fire hitting them when you tilt your head, watch your children more closely so that they do not place a burning candle next to your clothes, If the fire alarm goes off and a fire is reported, leave the prayer hall without panic and crowding along the evacuation routes.
