Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate detained a driver in Yalta while attempting to give a bribe

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Yalta, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate drew attention to a LADA Largus car, which was moving along the road in an uncharacteristic driving manner. Police officers decided to stop the vehicle. When checking the documents, it turned out that the driver was a 42-year-old citizen of another state.

While communicating with the owner of the car, traffic police inspectors smelled a strong smell of alcohol and suggested that the man undergo an intoxication test using the Alkotektor device, to which the driver agreed.

In a company car, when compiling material about an administrative offense under Part 1 of Art. 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle by a driver who is intoxicated), the offender, wanting to evade responsibility, offered a monetary reward to the road patrol inspector. The traffic police inspector warned the driver about the illegality of such actions and the criminal liability provided for them, but the driver placed a bill of 5,000 rubles and two bills of 1,000 rubles near the gear shift gate— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

The investigative team that arrived at the scene documented the fact of giving a bribe and seized the specified funds. The investigator of the police department No. 3 “Massandra” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 1 art. 291.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted petty bribery). The sanction of the article provides for up to one year of imprisonment.
