Employers in Crimea overestimate the role of praise in motivating staff
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Every second company representative is sure that praise from management encourages staff to work more actively, but approval from management is important to only 1 in 7 employees. Representatives of companies and economically active residents of Crimea took part in the survey of the service for finding high-paying jobs SuperJob.
Employers were not mistaken in identifying the most important way to motivate staff to work actively, of course, this is money: bonuses are in the first place among both company representatives (81% of votes) and employees (60%). In second place for both categories of respondents is interest in work (56 and 48%, respectively). 50% of employers are confident that praise from superiors has a positive impact on work speed, but in reality this is important only for 14% of Crimeans; in third place among economically active citizens is the desire to prove themselves (28% of votes). Employers also overestimate the importance of such motivating factors as the lack of ability to shift responsibility to other employees and management control,” noted the service’s press service.
“Last deadlines” for completing work encourage more than every tenth person to work more actively, but company representatives do not consider this factor to be significant at all.
Men were more likely to admit that they were pressured by deadlines. Women are more sensitive to the praise of their superiors and work more actively out of interest in their work or to demonstrate their abilities.
Love of work, praise, desire to show oneself and competitiveness influence the speed of work and city dwellers under 34 years of age.
For respondents with a salary of 80 thousand rubles or more, the most effective way to force them to work more actively is bonuses.
