Evening accident in Sevastopol: 14 people were injured in a collision between two minibuses

The night before, at 20:40, an accident occurred in Sevastopol in which two route buses collided.

The 48-year-old driver of the Mercedes Benz shuttle bus, moving along Menshikov Street towards October Revolution Avenue, near house No. 44 on Rudneva Street, hit the Bogdan shuttle bus standing in front, which also had passengers. As a result of the collision of two minibuses, according to preliminary data, the driver of the Bogdan bus, as well as more than ten passengers of two minibuses, were injured. All of them received the necessary medical care— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

An investigation into the accident involving victims is being carried out, based on the results of which a procedural decision will be made.

As the Investigative Committee clarified, the total number of people injured in this accident is 14. The investigator is checking:

Regarding this fact, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation A.I. Bastrykin instructed the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol V.N. Terentyev. initiate a criminal case and submit a report on the established circumstances of the incident. The progress and results of the investigation will be monitored by the central office of the department.

The Sevastopol prosecutor’s office is also looking into the circumstances of this accident. It is clarified that buses of routes No. 16 and No. 110 collided.

The prosecutor’s office will evaluate the completeness of carriers’ compliance with legislative requirements in the field of organizing passenger transportation. The legality of the procedural decision taken by law enforcement agencies on this fact will also be checked.the supervisory authority emphasized.
