Events dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad took place in Sevastopol
Krympress reports:
In Sevastopol, events were held on the 81st anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War. The day began with the laying of flowers to the stele «Hero-Hero Leningrad» on the Alley of Glory.
Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Podvozhaev, representatives of the Government and the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol, the Black Sea Fleet, Veterans-Blocades, Social Code, Cadets of the Ministry of Emergencies, Victory volunteers and residents of the city, took part in the event.
For our country, the blockade of Leningrad is one of the worst pages in the history of the Great Patriotic War. It lasted 872 days, but neither hunger, nor the absence of electricity and water, nor permanent air raids could break the will of the defenders and residents of the city. On January 27, the city on the Neva saluted the valiant troops of the Leningrad Front with 24 artillery volleys of 324 guns. These were the first nonsense volleys of guns for many months and the only salute of the first degree for all the years of the Great Patriotic War, spent not in the capital of the USSR — the city of Moscow. We will never forget what a terrible price our people paid for, for the reluctance to obey the Nazis. We remember!,-quoted the press service of the Government of Sevastopol, the Governor of the city of Mikhail Pravozhaev.
The gathered people honored the memory of those who gave their lives for the protection of the city and the whole country, the dead inhabitants of Leningrad. They recalled those who survived the blockade, retaining their humanity and courage in the most difficult times.
It is most important to honor traditions today. Sevastopol has always done so. Traditionally, on the 27th, on the day of the complete removal of the blockade, here, at the stele on the Alley of Glory, representatives of public organizations, blockade and blockade, who survived this terrible test, gather. They lay flowers, meet with youth and exchange opinions. This is very important. January 27, 1944, on the day of the complete removal of the blockade of Leningrad, a salute sounded. We are sure that soon it will sound again after all the goals of a special military operation, after our victory. We wish all blocks of good health and happiness. We are always there and are ready to help— notes the director of the Department of Internal Policy Sergei Lisadal.
In addition, events for schoolchildren were held in the city. For the 30 young Sevastopol residents in the Museum of Bread «The Center for Ecological and Tax Creativity of Student Youth», the thematic excursion program «Price of Life-Blocacle Bread» was held.
For students of the Sevastopol school No. 22, a round table «Holocaust — historical understanding» was held. During the conversation, high school students were told about the causes and consequences of a global tragedy.
The city also hosted the hour of information “Holocaust lessons — the path to tolerance” on an adjacent topic. As part of the lesson, listeners were told about what the word “Holocaust” means and about the atrocities of the Nazis in the occupied territories.
A historical lesson was also held in the Children’s Marine Flotilla, dedicated to the anniversary of the lifting of the blockade of Leningrad.
In the Palace of Culture, fishermen held a patriotic program “You are a city of life, Leningrad!”, In the framework of which the verses and songs of the war years sounded.
In the Sevastopol Palace of Culture, the thematic program “900 heroic days” was opened, dedicated to the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade. In the lobby of the Palace of Culture, a photo exhibition was presented. And also the “Blockade Bread” action took place.
In addition, in our city we held an international historical intellectual game “January Thunder” as part of the All -Russian campaign “900 days of feat”. The All-Russian action “900 days of the feat” is timed to the celebration of the 81st anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade during the Great Patriotic War.
