Events for National Unity Day and the All-Russian event “Night of Arts” are announced in Yalta

On November 3, the “Night of the Arts” event starts throughout Russia. This year it will take place on the eve of National Unity Day, so it will be held under the motto “Russia Unites.”
A big holiday is planned for November 3 in Alupka. Entertainment events start at 14-00 with a free sightseeing tour of the Old Town. The route starts from the Church of the Archangel Michael (there is free parking on site). Anyone can come on the tour (without prior registration).
The excursion lasts 3 hours, including a visit to the exhibition of the Yalta Historical and Literary Museum “History of Alupka”. On this day, the museum will host an Open Day — free admission for everyone is organized from 10:00 to 16:00 (excursions at 11:00 and 14:00).
At 13:00 on the street. Amet Khan-Sultan in the city center will open an exhibition of works by local craftsmen “Made in Alupka” and a gastronomic fair with treats: pilaf, coffee on the sand and non-alcoholic mulled wine.
The city center will be equipped with themed autumn photo zones. The holiday will be accompanied by performances by creative groups from the Alupka House of Culture.
At 16:00 at the “History of Alupka” exposition, as part of the “Night of Arts” event, a poetry event “Russia Unites” will take place with the participation of members of the Alupka literary club “Golden Lamp”. Poets will read poems about Russia, about love for the Motherland and its multinational family.
From 17:00 to 19:00 everyone will be able to visit the exhibition “Old Alupka” (Kalinina St., 38) for free.
Also, from 16:00 to 20:00, the main exhibitions of the state halls of the Vorontsov Palace will be open for free admission. In honor of the upcoming National Unity Day, it will be illuminated in the colors of the tricolor. The cultural program in the palace starts at 16:00 with the theme evening “Crimea of Konstantin Prokhorov”. Following it, at 17:00, the creative lesson “Together — we are one!” will begin. and at 17:30 – thematic conversation “Our strength is in unity…”. The evening will continue with the “Images of the Past” costume party, which is scheduled from 18:00 to 20:00. The day will end with the online concert “Under the Shadow of the Vorontsov Plane Tree,” which will be broadcast on the official website of the palace. It will take place from 21:00 to 24:00.
On November 3, the “Night of the Arts” will be celebrated at the Yalta Historical and Literary Museum.
An Open Day will be held here on this day. From 10:00 to 16:00 guests can visit the exhibitions for free (tours at 11:00 and 14:00):
— Exposition “History of Alupka” — at 16:00 there will be a poetry event “Russia Unites” with the participation of members of the Alupka literary club “Golden Lamp”. Poets will read poems about Russia, about love for the Motherland and its multinational family.
— Exhibition “Culture of Yalta in the 19th – first quarter of the 20th centuries.” – at 18:00 there will be an excursion event “Culture Unites”. At the evening, the art of dance of the early twentieth century will unite with the art of literary expression and poetry.
— Exposition “Yalta. Pages of History” – at 18:00 there will be a presentation of the exhibition “Peoples of Russia”, at which a specialist in Slavic culture Tatyana Varlamova and a collector and specialist in the attribution of antiques and art objects Svetlana Kurkovich will present their collections. The “Night of Arts” will end with an online exhibition of works by Honorary Citizen of Yalta Valentina Tsvetkova from the museum’s funds.

November 3 House-Museum of A.P. Chekhov and Dacha A.P. Chekhov and O.L. Knipper in Gurzuf will work for free from 16:00 to 20:00. The «Night of Arts» event will begin at the House-Museum with the vernissage of children’s drawings «Colors of Chekhov’s House», created by young talents of the Yalta Children’s Art School named after. F. Vasilyeva. At 18:30, everyone will be invited to the author’s tour “The World of the Museum Behind the Scenes” around the memorial house, where guests will be able to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of museum life and reveal its secrets. On the facade of the Belaya Dacha at 19:00 the image of Olga Knipper will come to life. The actress will share her memories of the premiere of the play “The Seagull,” immersing the audience in the atmosphere of the past.
In the “Chekhov and Crimea” department at the Omur dacha on November 3 at 16:00 there will be an author’s excursion “A Link of Times: Adelina Paty and Kapitolina Ilovaiskaya.” Guests will learn about the iconic visitors to the Omur dacha, among whom was a world-famous opera singer, who graced the ancient Gothic-style castle with her visit. The program will be completed by the musical lounge “Elegiac Mood”, in which romances and songs will be performed by Yalta artist Lyudmila Shcherbatenko.
At A.P.’s dacha Chekhov and O.L. Knipper in Gurzuf on this day at 16:30 there will be an author’s excursion “Guests of O.L. Knipper at the Gurzuf Dacha,” which is dedicated to the life of the writer’s wife and her immediate circle in the late 20s of the 20th century in a coastal house.
Online events are also planned as part of the Night of the Arts. From 21:00 on the official page of the institution on VKontakte there will be a broadcast of the short film “Chekhov’s Family Heirlooms”. The video will allow you to take a virtual trip to Anton Pavlovich’s house, visit his office, see rare objects and hear the stories they hide. And on the official website of the Crimean Literary and Art Museum-Reserve, research work and photographic materials from the museum’s stock collection about the guests who visited O.L.’s dacha will be posted. Program of events on November 4 at the A.P. House-Museum Chekhov in Yalta will open a vernissage of children’s drawings “Chekhov’s Characters”. In the artistic works of students of the Yalta Children’s Art School named after. F. Vasiliev will bring to life bright, multifaceted images of heroes from the writer’s stories.
At 14:30, everyone will be able to attend the presentation of the temporary thematic exhibition “What a talented Chekhov you are.” The exhibition will provide an opportunity to touch the life of Anton Chekhov’s family and demonstrate how different and in their own way talented people were those who walked alongside him through life. For the first time, such unique artifacts will be presented as the magic lantern that Mikhail Chekhov made with his own hands, the dishes of the writer’s family, the teaching supplies of the Chekhov teachers and much more.
At 16:30 we invite everyone to the literary exhibition hall for a film screening of the film “Faithful People”. The 2022 film, created by director Alexander Andronov, will tell about our contemporaries who faithfully preserve their national traditions and revive Orthodoxy in the picturesque Altai.
At Dacha A.P. Chekhov and O.L. Knipper in Gurzuf on National Unity Day from 11:00 there will be a vernissage of children’s drawings “Our Russia” with the participation of young artists from the fine arts studio of the Gurzuf House of Culture.
In addition, on November 4, all departments of the Crimean Literary and Art Memorial Museum-Reserve: House-Museum of A.P. Chekhov in Yalta, Dacha A.P. Chekhov and O.L. Knie per in Gurzuf, as well as the Chekhov and Crimea museum at the Omyur dacha will operate free of charge for all visitors. Organized group excursions, as part of the promotion, will be held at 11:30, 14:30 and 16:30 in all departments of the museum complex.
On November 4, at the Glade of Fairy Tales museum at 12:00, a festive concert “One Country for All” will take place. The vocal ensemble “Russian Holidays” will perform songs about our Motherland. Admission to the museum is free from 09:00 to 14:00.
