Every second Crimean citizen believes that he is experiencing digital addiction
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In a service survey SuperJob economically active citizens took part.
20% of Crimeans confidently declared their digital addiction, and 30% rather agreed with this. At the same time, 50% claim that they do not observe addiction in themselves: 32% are rather convinced of this, another 18% categorically deny the presence of any signs.
The younger the respondents, the more often they report symptoms of addiction: 54% among survey participants under 34 years of age and 41% among those over 45 years of age.
43% of city residents reported that from time to time they practice “digital detox” — a temporary refusal to use gadgets and the Internet. Of these, 17% consciously give up digital devices and the Internet for some time every day, 9% do this several times a week, and 8% do this several times a month. Another 7% take a break from the Internet and smartphones several times a year, and 2% — once every few years.
However, most do not practice a digital detox. Some of them cannot afford to remain without communication. Others perceive modern technologies as a natural habitat and do not see the need to abandon them: “Living in the age of technology and abandoning them is like giving up air,” “Whoever owns the information owns the world.”
