Every second Crimean does not know anything about the activities of trade unions

March 23 — the day of the creation of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of the Russian Federation. On the eve of this date, residents of Crimea appreciated the activities of professional organizations.
53% of the inhabitants of Crimea do not know anything about the activities of trade unions. Positively 31% include (9% — of course positively, 22% — rather positively), and negatively — 16% (10% — rather negatively, 6% — absolutely negative).
Women are aware of trade unions are fewer men, but more often they evaluate their work positively. The higher the income of the inhabitants of Crimea, the greater their interest in trade union activities, but at the same time they often give negative assessments. Young people under 34 are rarely interested in trade unions: 53% do not know anything about them.
Judging by the comments, the inhabitants of the Crimea consider trade unions to be incompetent, who have lost their independence and exist “for a tick”. There were opinions that organizations poorly protect the interests of employees, and contributions — a waste of money.
59% of the inhabitants of Crimea are sure that trade unions are needed and can be useful, 12% consider them unnecessary. Men are more often than women support the need for trade unions (63% versus 55%). In their utility, residents of Crimea over 45 years old are more often confident (67% versus 55% among young people under 34). The higher the income, the more often respondents see the potential benefits from trade unions.
Among those aware of the activities of trade unions, 61% believe that the trade union movement is in decline. Men agree with this more often women (67% versus 56%). Among respondents up to 34 years, there are more than those who are confident in the decline of professional organizations (67%).
28% of the inhabitants of Crimea talk about the crisis of trade union organizations, and only 11% see signs of rise.
Residents of Crimea are waiting for the modernization of the trade union movement: “We need real trade unions that will protect the rights of workers in the field”, “Only independent organizations acting in the interests of employees.”
