Every second resident of the Southern Federal District plans to spend up to 50,000 rubles on building materials in 2025

Avito advertising experts interviewed the inhabitants of the Southern Federal District and found out how often they acquire building materials and how much they plan to spend on them this year. It turned out that the planned budget for goods for construction on average is about 109,564 rubles. The most popular categories of goods were: paints and varnishes (22%), plumbing (22%) and finishing materials (14%).
The results of the survey showed that 23% of respondents buy building materials several times a year. This is usually due to the improvement of housing or construction. Every fifth (20%) acquires materials once or twice a year-for seasonal or large works. Another 25% do this once every two to three years, if necessary. 21% of the survey participants buy building materials.
Most of the inhabitants of the Southern Federal District (55%) called the repair of the apartment the most common reason for the purchase of building materials. Next is the arrangement of a country house or cottage (28%). Much less often materials are purchased for greenhouses (9%), baths (2%) or other outbuildings (3%).
Among the most popular categories of building materials, paints and varnishes are leading — they are bought by 22% of respondents. The same (22%) indicated plumbing: pipes, accessories and components. In third place — finishing materials. These include polymer, cement, natural and ceramic compositions — they were noted by 14% of the survey participants. They also often buy wood (9%), cement and gypsum (9%) and sealants (7%).
More than half (53%) of respondents are ready to spend up to 50,000 rubles on the purchase of building materials. Another 18% plan from 50,001 to 100,000 rubles, from 100 001 to 300,000 rubles — 9% of respondents. Large investments — from 300,000 rubles and above — are ready to allocate about 6% of participants. The average amount for the purchase of materials for construction was 109,564 rubles.
Spring is a traditionally active period for construction and repair. Avito is a platform with a huge audience for DIY. Construction and repair is one of the most popular categories on Avito. The turnover of goods in the category increased by 26% compared to last year, and the category audience has 20 million users monthly. When choosing building materials, buyers are primarily focused on quality and cost. These parameters are important for 70% and 65% of respondents, respectively. Delivery also matters: 32% noted its availability and convenience when receiving goods. Almost every fourth (26%) pays attention to seasonal discounts and promotions, and 24% to the convenience of finding the desired positions.
What factors are most important for you when choosing building materials?
42% of the survey participants noted that they notice advertising building materials on websites with ads and marketplaces. Advertising in social networks is interested in 12% of respondents, and 15% on digital screens in stores and issues. Digital outdoor advertising was noted by 12% of respondents.
