Evpatoria libraries won 2nd place in the Interregional competition “Reading Street”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Evpatoria centralized library system took part in the Interregional professional competition “Reading Street” for library specialists of municipal public libraries of the Republic of Crimea and other regions of Russia working with young people. Its organizer was the Crimean Republican Library for Youth with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.
About 100 librarians and library groups presented their developments of innovative literary, social, and advertising events held outside the library walls — in the open air and in a variety of locations. Evpatoria specialists prepared a presentation of the original event “Maslenitsa library gatherings on a tram”, held as part of the annual citywide celebration of Broad Maslenitsa. The competition jury appreciated the bright, spectacular literary and folklore program on the tram, which went through the entire city along its usual route and transported passengers to the sounds of an accordion and the singing of ditties, with quizzes, book reviews and “library fortune-telling”,” noted the press service of the Evpatoria administration.
According to the results of the competition, the Evpatoria library system was awarded 2nd place, which was shared with the Central Library of the Simferopol District. In 1st place are the library system of the city of Nizhnekamsk in the Republic of Tatarstan and the library system of the city of Blagoveshchensk. 3rd place was taken by Alushta Library No. 1 and the library system of the Komi Republic.
