Evpatoria school No. 18 was awarded the name of General Ismail Bulatov

Secondary school No. 18 was given the name of General Ismail Bulatov. This decision was made at an extraordinary session of the Evpatoria City Council on August 8.
On April 24, 2024, the school staff at his meeting decided in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War to join the project of the All-Russian Popular Front “The Hero-School Name”, in which educational institutions throughout the country receive the names of their heroes-land.
The “Hero -School Name” project has been implemented in educational institutions of our country since 2014. He is aimed at the formation of interest in young people in a deeper study of the history and culture of their people.
School No. 18 became the tenth educational institution, which was awarded the name of the hero of the Great Patriotic War.
REFERENCE. Ismail Bulatovich Bulatov (1902-1975)-Soviet Crimean Tatar military leader, Major General, participant in the Great Patriotic War, cavalier of three orders of the Red Banner, the Order of the II degree and the Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky II degree.
Born in Yevpatoria. He was left early without his father and was forced to provide his mother and two younger brothers. After graduating from the Politrukov school in 1924-1926, he was sent to the Red Army for military service.
During the war, Bulatov was repeatedly wounded. For the combat successes of the division and personal courage for conducting the Yelian operation in September 1941, he was presented to the Order of the Red Banner, and in the winter of 1942 to a government award for the liberation of the cities of Efremov and Novosil. In March 1943, Ismail Bulatov was awarded the title of Major General.
He participated in the liberation of Odessa, in the battles for Koenigsberg and in the capture of Berlin.
