Evpatoria will host the Open Festival of Children's and Family Films «Sunny Island»

From August 29 to September 2, Evpatoria will host the VI Open Festival of Children’s and Family Films «Sunny Island». The creative project is being implemented under the patronage of the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea and the administration of Evpatoria.
The festival has been held since 2016 and has become a significant cultural event for Evpatoria and the peninsula as a whole.
The project is aimed at the development of interregional cultural ties, the education of a high moral culture, spirituality and patriotism of the younger generation by means of cinematography, is designed to promote the formation of Evpatoria as a place of recreation, health improvement and creative development of children, promotion of new Russian cinema to the Crimean audienceaccording to the organizers.
By the way, the organizers of the festival are the Crimean Film and Media Center, which since 2018 has included the Yalta Film Studio, the Crimean State Philharmonic and the Production Company of Anatoly Voropaev (Moscow).
The President of the Festival is Dmitry Kharatyan, People’s Artist of Russia, Honorary Citizen of Evpatoria.
The extensive program of the project includes a variety of film events: screenings of competitive and out-of-competition films, creative meetings and master classes, a round table, solemn opening and closing ceremonies. Cinema sites will be the Raketa and Kino Maximum cinemas, children’s sanatoriums and health camps, where wonderful children’s films and fairy tales filmed in Crimea will be shown.
The solemn opening ceremony of the festival will take place in the Evpatoria City Theater named after. A.S. Pushkin on August 29 at 19:00, and the closing ceremony on September 2 at 18:00. Entrance to the opening and closing ceremonies by invitation cards.
According to the established tradition, the films of the competition program, shot by professional Russian filmmakers, are evaluated by the children’s jury together with their curators.
This year, Andrey and Anastasia Permyakov, theater and film artists, directors and teachers of the Crimean Theater for Young Spectators, will be the curators of the children’s jury of the feature film competition. The young members of the jury of animated films will be assisted by the actress, teacher, director of the Center for Creative Development and Patriotic Education «School of Midshipmen» Marina Mayko together with her son Ivan Kharatyan.
