Earlier, the first deputy chairman of the State Council of Crimea, the head of the competitive commission, Sergei Tsekov, told RIA Novosti Crimea that the competition for the new anthem of Crimea has compositions of authors from all over Russia, including from the republic itself. It was also reported that by March 23, the Commission on the Creative Competition for the best project of the state anthem of Crimea conducted preliminary listening to 11 competitive compositions of 20 declared. The compositions were presented in compliance with anonymity, without specifying the names of the authors of music and text.

The competition for the new anthem of the republic started on December 1, 2024 and will last until June 2025. The works are sent to the commission, headed by the first deputy chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Tsekov. He previously noted that the existing anthem has already «fulfilled his historical role.» In the new version, according to him, the love of Crimea should be expressed, its history and connection with Russia should be displayed.
