Exhibition in Yevpatoria: “We don’t abandon our own” or… The terrible truth through the eyes of war correspondents
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On the anniversary of the start of a special military operation in the gallery of contemporary art “Ha-Ra-Sho!” An exhibition of photographs of TASS war correspondents opened. The exhibition was initiated by gallery curator Andrey Permyakov:
Today we have a difficult, very emotional, very important exhibition, the name of which we did not choose for a long time. We called it “We Don’t Abandon Our Own.” It’s scary, but this is the terrible truth that our guys at the front are fighting for today. The most important thing is that people come to such events at the behest of their soul and heart.
The exhibition of photographs “We Don’t Abandon Our Own,” the authors of which were photojournalists from the Russian news agency TASS, is timed to coincide with Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 10th anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia. 58 canvases show real footage from the lives of people and cities affected by these terrible events. There were many young people at the opening of the exhibition, including cadets from school No. 11 named after Hero of the Soviet Union Evgraf Ryzhov.
We are engaged in patriotic education and our soldiers should know that they are growing a worthy replacement — young people who love our country, who are proud that we live in Russia — a strong, multinational, diverse, powerful country— emphasized the director of the theater Nina Permyakova.
Among the visitors to the exhibition is Mikhail Barilov, who recently moved to Yevpatoria from the DPR. Now he is studying in a cadet class. He shares his emotions and says that he felt calm in Crimea:
I myself have seen similar actions, so I understand what it’s like. The support of people who are now at the front is very important, because not only do they hear and see this rarely, they are constantly in military operations and support for them is the most important thing.”
Another cadet Roman Rostochkov shared his impressions from the viewing. On Monday, his relative returns to the front, and Roman knows first-hand how it is behind the ribbon:
I really liked this exhibition because I have a relative who is a SVO. He is a miner and I know how hard it is for them there. Our guys are helping our country!
Among the authors of the presented works are agency photojournalists Alexander Polegenko, Dmitry Yagodkin, Alexander Reka, Alexey Konovalov, Sergey Fadeichev, Vladimir Gerdo, Sergey Bobylev, Mikhail Tereshchenko.
You can visit the exhibition “We Don’t Abandon Our Own” until March 5th. Free admission!
