Experts: at the end of February, the volume of new car loans increased by 135% year-on-year

The United Credit Bureau (UCB) summed up the results of car loans to citizens in February 2024.

The volume of new car loans issued over the month increased by 39%, and the number — by 35%. In February of this year, 80.43 thousand car loans worth 124.61 billion rubles were issued, a month earlier – 59.70 thousand loans worth 89.69 billion rubles. The average car loan bill for the month increased by 3%: from 1.50 to 1.55 million rubles. The average car loan term decreased by 1 month and amounted to 69 months. On an annual basis, the volume of new car loans issued increased by 135%, and the number by 99%. In February 2023, 40.39 thousand car loans were issued for 53.00 billion rubles. The average bill for a car loan increased over the year by 18%: from 1.31 million rubles. The average car loan term increased by 9 months over the year.

In terms of car loan issuance volumes, the top five leading regions include: Moscow — 6.63 thousand car loans worth 13.71 billion rubles, Moscow region. – 6.11 thousand loans for 11.43 billion rubles, St. Petersburg – 4.54 thousand loans for 8.27 billion rubles, Krasnodar Territory – 3.88 thousand loans for 6.31 billion rubles. and Tatarstan – 4.04 thousand loans worth 5.84 billion rubles.

In all regions from the TOP-30 for issuing car loans in February 2024, compared to January, there was an increase in their volumes and quantity. The largest increase was recorded in Tatarstan: the volume of car loans increased in the republic by 59%, and the number of issues — by 51%. The most “modest” increase in the volume and number of car loans issued was recorded in the Irkutsk region: +24% for both indicators.

The average monthly car loan size remained at the same level in the Perm Territory and Irkutsk Region. In other regions from the TOP-30 it increased. The highest growth — by 7% — is observed in the Novosibirsk and Rostov regions. The largest car loans were issued in February to residents of Moscow — an average of 2.07 million rubles, Moscow region. – 1.87 million rubles, St. Petersburg – 1.82 million rubles, Novosibirsk region. – 1.68 million rubles. and Leningrad region. – 1.65 million rubles.

Car loans for the longest term – 73 months. – issued in February to residents of the Novosibirsk and Volgograd regions, as well as the Krasnodar Territory. The shortest car loan terms were recorded in the Tula region. – 66 months In Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Irkutsk regions, the average loan term was 67 months.
