Experts: mortgage rates for families with two children proposed to be reduced

Families with two or more children purchasing spacious housing with a mortgage were offered a discount on the rate. The initiative was taken by Deputy General Director of Dom.RF Alexey Nidens.

This will improve the apartment layout of new buildings, Niedens is sure. Now the market is skewed towards compact one-room apartments and studios, while spacious apartments with three or more rooms, which are in demand among families with children, are in short supply. In addition, this support measure will help in solving demographic problems.

The deputy head of Dom.RF cited Rosstat data, according to which almost half of citizens of reproductive age would like to have two children, and 25% of Russians want at least three children in their family. In 50% of Russian families there is only one child.

Let us recall that in September a number of large banks suspended the issuance of family mortgages due to the exhaustion of limits. Some banks’ limits are close to exhaustion. According to the Ministry of Finance, the limits allocated for the program will last until November 2024.
