Experts of the Architectural and Art Council approved the design code of Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Architectural and Art Council, chaired by Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev, approved the design code for information structures, facade elements, and navigation elements acceptable for placement in Sevastopol.
The design code is the most important document that will need to be used during the construction of new buildings and during the repair and reconstruction of existing facilities,” the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Mikhail Razvozhaev.
The project was developed by a consulting company in the field of territorial development, Atlas LLC. According to project manager Elena Trubina, specialists came to Sevastopol more than once to study the topography, architecture and culture of the city, and examine historical documents.
The developers identified the main morphotypes of Sevastopol buildings and, after a comprehensive analysis, presented ideas for the design of building facades and roofs. In the historical center, the architectural concept of Sevastopol as a white-stone city will be completely preserved; in other areas of the city, color solutions in a consistent range can be used.
Experts also developed a unified style of information structures designed to free Sevastopol from visual noise. An authentic font was created for signs, notices and other city navigation elements. Elena Trubina noted that this work was carried out jointly with Sevastopol historian Stepan Samoshin, who presented historical samples for the reconstruction of the font.
In the near future, the design code will be approved by a government decree, after which its implementation in urban planning practice will begin. Mikhail Razvozhaev noted that the process of transition to a single design standard will be careful and smooth.
