Experts: Russians spend an average of about 400 rubles on lunch at work

Avito Rabota surveyed more than 7,000 working Russians to find out how much they spend on work lunches and how they prefer to eat during the working day. Analysts have found that on average, working Russians spend about 438.5 rubles on one lunch. In a month with a standard 5/2 schedule, Russian workers spend an average of about 9,208 rubles spent on work lunches.

55% of Russians have home-cooked lunch at work, while the rest either prefer to buy lunch (34%) or eat what their employer provides them for free (5%). At the same time, a significant portion of those who buy their lunches do so in canteens or buffets (14%), i.e. where prices are usually affordable and you don’t have to wait long. 8% buy food in stores, order delivery — 6%, go to restaurants, cafes for business lunches or fast food restaurants — 7% of respondents,” noted the service’s press service.

The survey also showed that 21% of working Russians spend an average of up to 200 rubles on lunch, 42% — from 201 to 400 rubles. 17% of respondents spend from 401 to 600 rubles for lunch. Not many Russian workers spend more than 600 rubles on lunch: 11% of respondents spend from 601 to 1000 rubles, and 7% spend more than 1000 rubles.

Women are more likely than men to try to save on lunches—a quarter (25%) of women and only 18% of men noted that they spend up to 200 rubles on lunch.

41% of education and science workers, 32% of agriculture and agro-industry specialists, 28% of production workers and 27% of representatives of traditional trade also spend less than 200 rubles on work lunches. From 201 to 400 rubles is more often spent on lunches among construction and real estate workers (49%).

From 1001 to 1500 rubles on lunch are more often spent by employees of consulting and providing professional services (15%), as well as employees of marketing, advertising and PR (7%), IT and telecoms (7%), agriculture and agro-industry (7%).

10% of online trade workers, 6% of accounting and finance specialists, 4% of representatives of agriculture and agro-industry spend from 1,501 to 2,000 rubles on lunch.

15% of workers in the automotive business, 7% of representatives of the arts, entertainment and mass media, 6% of consulting specialists and the same number from the tourism and hospitality industry, as well as 5% of IT specialists and banking workers are ready to spend more than 2000 rubles on lunch. investment.
