Experts: the greatest hiring activity was in the construction sector in the first quarter of 2024

Avito Works experts studied the dynamics of the number of vacancies and the demand of job seekers by field of activity when comparing the first quarter of 2024 with the same period in 2023. Analysts found out which professional areas are most popular among employers and job seekers.
The largest increase in job offers in the first quarter of this year occurred in the construction sector — employer demand over the year increased 2.3 times (+134%). Average salary offers for new full-time employees increased by 28% and reached 81,557 rubles per month.
Thus, the demand for roofers has increased 2.7 times (+171%); employers offer new employees in this position 24% more than last year — 70,154 rubles monthly at full time. Employers also became 2.6 times (+165) more active in looking for monolithic workers, and average salary offers for new specialists increased by 33% and amounted to 100,000 rubles per month. Demand for builders increased 2.5 times over the year (+159%). They are ready to offer new employees 37% more compared to the first quarter of last year — 94,313 rubles per month.
Another area with increased hiring activity is banking and investment. The number of vacancies for specialists in this field increased by 2.2 times (+126%). In the first quarter of 2024, new employees were offered an average of 50,122 rubles per month, which is 9% more than the same period in 2023.
For example, over the year, employer demand for brokers increased 2.8 times (+185%). On average, in the first quarter of this year, new specialists were offered 124,476 rubles per month (+21% year on year). The search for bank employees also began to be more active — the number of vacancies for them doubled over the year (+107%), and the average salary offers for new employees increased by 19% from year to year and reached 63,743 rubles per month. Also, the number of vacancies for economists doubled (+106%) — in the first quarter of 2024, they were ready to offer an average of 48,732 new employees (+18% year on year).
The third largest increase in the number of vacancies among employers was the area of human resources management. In the first quarter of this year, the number of vacancies doubled (+109%) year-on-year, and the average salary offers for new specialists amounted to 61,708 rubles per month — they increased by almost a third (+32%) over the year.
In the first quarter of this year, the search for HR managers began to be 2.3 times (+132%) more active than in the same period in 2023, and average salary offers for new employees increased by 19% and reached 54,793 rubles per month. The number of vacancies for occupational safety specialists also increased by 2.2 times (+124%) over the year. New employees were offered 12% more — 55,317 rubles monthly. There are 68% more vacancies for recruiters — on average, they are willing to offer new employees 144,561 rubles per month. For these specialists, salary offers over the year increased almost 2.5 times — by 148%.
