Facts of storage of synthetic drugs revealed in Krasnoperekopsk

Employees of the Krasnoperekopsky Department for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, together with the combined police detachment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, as a result of operational-search activities, detained two men who had geolocation data on the location of a drug cache in their mobile phones.

The police have identified the suspects. They turned out to be 30 and 38-year-old residents of Armyansk with no previous convictions. During the operational-search activities, according to the specified coordinates, bundles packed in adhesive tape were seized. According to the suspects, the bundles contained the narcotic drug «salt», which they purchased for personal use. The seized samples were sent for research. According to the expert opinion, the powdered substance contains an N-methylephedron derivative (the so-called «salt»), weighing 1.92 g.— reported the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry in the Crimea.

In relation to the suspects, the investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Krasnoperekopsky» initiated criminal cases on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, manufacture, processing without the purpose of selling narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues on a large scale). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to ten years.

A preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave was chosen for the attackers.
