Farmers of Crimea started harvesting early varieties of peaches

In the Bakhchisaray district, for example, employees of Peaches of Bakhchisaray LLC collect a fig variety of peach.
On more than 70 hectares, different varieties of this fruit are grown here. Last year, about 200 tons of crops were harvested. The enterprise is a permanent participant of state programs. Last year it received a subsidy for planting orchards. As a result, 3.8 hectares of area were planted with young trees— the press service quotes the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Crimea Andrey Savchuk.
Andrey Savchuk also said that fruit harvesting work is also taking place in other regions of the republic. The largest areas are in the Bakhchisarai and Dzhankoy regions. Also, the fruit is grown in the Krasnogvardeisky Simferopol and Nizhnegorsk regions.
We regularly support our gardeners with subsidies. This year they have already received money to plant 75 hectares of new peach orchards. And in the past they laid more than a hundred. The most common varieties that our farmers like to grow are: Golden Moscow, Golden Jubilee, Juicy, Redhaven, Veteran and others. This year, the fruits will be harvested from about 870 hectaresthe minister notes.
Experts emphasize that the Crimean peach is the famous and delicious «business card» of the Crimea. This year, gardeners will present the Crimean Peach brand at the All-Russian Tastes of Russia competition in about a week.
