Fatal accident in Sevastopol. The driver of the minibus died, seven passengers were hospitalized

This afternoon in Sevastopol there was an accident in which the driver of a minibus died. Seven of its passengers were injured. According to the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the tragedy occurred on Khrustaleva Street. And it was caused by careless overtaking.
The 54-year-old driver of a Mercedes Vito, while performing an overtaking maneuver at an intersection near house No. 44 on Khrustaleva Street, collided with a Chevrolet car, drove into oncoming traffic, where he hit a curb stone, followed by a collision with a light pole. As a result of the accident, the driver of the Mercedes died from his injuries at the scene, seven of his passengers were taken to the city hospital with injuries of varying severity.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
The state of intoxication of the minibus driver has not been established. Upon the fact of a traffic accident, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate are conducting an investigation, based on the results of which a procedural decision will be made.
