Fatal accident on the highway «Simferopol — Krasnoperekopsk». A tow truck and a “pie” collided head-on

On January 24, at 17:50, an accident occurred on the 55th km of the Simferopol — Krasnoperekopsk highway in which one person died. As the traffic police clarified, a head-on collision between a car and a truck occurred near the turn to the village of Stakhanovka.
Driver born in 1988, driving a VIS car (a commercial pickup truck from VAZ’s subsidiary, popularly known as a “pie” — ed.)moving from Simferopol in the direction of Krasnoperekopsk, for unknown reasons, allowed to enter the lane intended for oncoming traffic, where he collided with a GAZ-3302 truck moving towards him (“GAZelle” — “manipulator” — ed.) under the control of a driver, born in 1967, who was transporting a KIA SPORTAGE car on a cargo platform— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the VIS car was fatally injured, the passenger of the GAZ-3302 car, a woman born in 1969, received bodily injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The State Traffic Inspectorate arrived at the scene of the traffic accident. The circumstances of the incident are being established. The video of the GAZelle recorder does not reveal the reasons for the “pie” going into the oncoming lane — either the driver dozed off, or he was carelessly driving around the hole…
