The police are conducting an investigation into a fatal accident on the Alushta-Sudak-Feodosia mountain highway, known for its tortuosity. The accident happened this afternoon, at 16:55, on the way to the village of Koktebel, and on a fairly straight section of the road.
A 30-year-old driver of a KIA Ceed, moving from Feodosia towards the village of Koktebel, completing an overtaking maneuver, lost control, as a result of which he made a side skid and entered the lane intended for oncoming traffic, where he made a tangent a collision with a Renault car driven by a 45-year-old driver, followed by a collision with a VAZ 2104 car moving in the opposite direction.
As a result of the accident, the driver and passenger of the VAZ 2104 car, the driver and passenger of the KIA Ceed car received injuries and were taken to a medical facility, where the passenger of the KIA Ceed car subsequently died from their injuries— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
An investigation into the accident is underway and the circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
