Federal Tax Service: application for property benefits must be sent in the 1st quarter of 2024

Organizations that are eligible for property tax benefits should hurry to submit the appropriate applications. Documents confirming your right to benefits must be attached to your application. It is important to note that the application form has been updated by order of the Federal Tax Service dated July 12, 2023 No. ED-7-21/470@. It is recommended that you submit your 2023 tax credit claims by April 1, 2024. This will help the tax authorities correctly calculate the tax taking into account the benefits provided.
Based on the results of consideration of applications, the tax authority sends the taxpayer a notice of the provision of a benefit or a message of refusal if there are insufficient grounds for applying the benefits.
Entrepreneurs using the simplified taxation system, the patent system or the unified agricultural tax can also submit an application to the tax authority for a personal property tax benefit in relation to business real estate.
Please note that the provision of property tax benefits for individual entrepreneurs applying special tax regimes is possible solely on the basis of their application accompanied by documents confirming the use of property in business activities (for example, a lease agreement).
We recommend submitting an application for a tax benefit in any way convenient for the taxpayer: through the electronic service of the Federal Tax Service of Russia “Taxpayer’s personal account for individuals” on the website of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, by mail, in person at any tax authority or through the MFC.
