Festival of children's and family cinema «Sunny Island» in Crimea will open on August 27

The grand opening of the Festival of Children’s and Family Films «Sunny Island» this year will take place on the Day of Russian Cinema — 27 August. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.

The film festival with the participation of well-known artists — theater and film actors, directors, screenwriters, artists, producers, film critics, popular artists and TV presenters, as well as young talents will traditionally be held in Crimea under the patronage of the Government of the Republic of Crimea. Our project promotes the popularization of cinematography, familiarizing the younger generation with the cultural heritage of the country through open screenings of domestic films and modern films, creative meetings and master classes. The festival is an excellent opportunity to organize a number of film education events, because since this academic year, the topic of film education, at the suggestion of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has become very important for the educational process. The project management, in particular, prepared a round table «Children’s cinema and animation — modern tools for the formation of personality, the development of critical thinking of preschoolers, primary and secondary schools», a lecture was organized showing unique stereo films about Crimea and a demonstration of restored cartoons , — the press service of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Crimea quotes Tatyana Manezhina.

This year, Crimea welcomes already beloved participants of the festival — People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Larisa Luzhina; director, animation film artist, Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation Natalia Dabizha; director of the Center «School of midshipmen» Marina Maiko; theater and film actor, TV presenter Mikhail Mamaev; theater and film actor Alexander Baluev; theater and film actress Tatyana Abramova; Honored Artist of Russia Yuri Belyaev; Honored Artist of Russia, director, screenwriter Natalia Bondarchuk; actor Igor Dnestryansky; Honored Artist of Russia Olga Mashnaya.

For the first time, famous actors and cinematographers will come to the festival: actress, TV presenter Olesya Sudzilovskaya; People’s Artist of Russia Yulia Rutberg; Honored Artist of Russia Euclid Kyurdizis; Honored Artist of Russia Svetlana Toma; Honored Artist of Russia Nikolai Denisov; People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Nikas Safronov; theater and film actress Maria Burlyaeva; film historian, film critic Nikolai Mayorov.

00 August at : 00 a live broadcast from the tram will begin — the participants of the festival will proceed to the opening ceremony of the festival and the red carpet.

The grand opening ceremony of the festival will take place at 19: 00 on the Theater Square of the city of Evpatoria.

The screenings of the competition program will be held in Yevpatoriya cinemas «Rocket» and «Kino Maximum», and on the open-air site in the city square it is planned to show films created at the Yalta film studio, which this year turned 105 years.

Films of the out-of-competition program will be shown in the children’s sanatoriums «Brigantina», «Seagull», boarding house named after. Gagarin, Evpatoria military children’s clinical sanatorium named after E.P. Glinka of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

This year, part of the competitive and out-of-competition programs will be shown in Simferopol — the Lumen cinema.

The closing ceremony and the award ceremony are scheduled for September 1 at the Theater. A.S. Pushkin (Evpatoria).
