From 22 to 25 July, Sevastopol will host the XVII International Non-Commercial Festival of Spiritual and Patriotic Song «Sky of the Slavs». Its program includes a spiritual-patriotic song contest, charity concerts and performances by guest artists. In addition, the military band of the Black Sea Fleet will perform for residents and guests of the city. Singers, musicians, government officials, clergy and the public will take part in the cultural and educational event.
The happy future of our peoples can only be in unity — we are parts of one friendly Slavic family. It is gratifying to realize that the Sky of the Slavs festival has become a symbol of the unshakable friendship of the fraternal peoples. Our peoples have repeatedly come to the aid of each other. The common glorious history of victories, cultural and moral traditions are called upon to strengthen the national culture, awaken the desire of the younger generation to become familiar with true spiritual values and are a symbol of unity for all who are filled with the desire to serve the spiritual revival of Russia , — the press service of the Government quotes Sevastopol Director of the Department of Culture Irina Romanets.
The main idea of the festival is the unity of the Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian peoples. The organizers and participants of the events invite Sevastopol residents and guests of the city to concerts and meetings dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir, where singers and songwriters from Sevastopol, Crimea, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov and other cities are invited.
So, 16 July in 16: 22 on stage Eco-Park «Lukomorye» will host a preliminary audition of the contestants. About 70 people will take part in it, this year a record number of applications was received — more than 40.
The grand opening of the festival and the competition itself can be visited on the summer stage «Shell» 23 in July at 00: 00. The next day, 24 July, at : 00 there will also be a gala concert and awarding of the winners. The festival will end with a charity concert for military personnel at the Naval Hospital 25 on July.
Recall that the festival of spiritual and patriotic song «Sky of the Slavs» is dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir — the Baptist of Russia. The organizer of the festival is the regional public organization «Fyodor Ushakov — valor, faith, honor of Russia and the glory of Sevastopol» with the support of the Government of Sevastopol, the Sevastopol deanery, the headquarters «We are together — Sevastopol», the command of the Black Sea Fleet, the center for the protection of family and childhood «Rusichi» (Sevastopol ), the Russian Military Historical Society, Commissioner for Human Rights in Sevastopol.
