Festival «Streets» from Tavrida.Art presented Sudak with new murals and a holiday of street art

Krympress reports:

On the day of Russia, Tavrida.Art spent the Festival of Street Street Festival in Sudak and the city of young creators. Invited artists from Russia and abroad created new murals in the city, and everyone could get to know modern street art closer.

The street culture festival this year was dedicated to the festive date — the Day of Russia. The artists invited by the artister created three new, large-scale murals, which were based on the plots of Russian folk tales and traditional folklore motifs in a modern interpretation.

The mural «Geometry of cultures» is an example of the intersection of the cultural traditions of our large country, uniting many nationalities and nationalities. It uses both traditional Russian and Crimean ornaments, and elements of my author’s style, which I called the “neo -Russian scouring”. In calligraphy, the first stanza of the poem of the Crimean poet Alexander the Tribushny was written “pike perch smiles at you”. I chose the color scheme, inspired by the Russian folk craft «Gzhel»-said the artist from Ulyanovsk Yuri Volfovich, who transformed one of the walls of the school-gymnasium No. 1 in Sudak.

The author of the Mural «Firebird», which adorned the house 3 on Gvardeskaya Street, was a street artist from Barcelona Zhaum Moler. His work in the style of abstractionism is already in Tyumen and Yekaterinburg. The author fell in love with Russian folk tales collected by the famous scientist and folklorist Alexander Afanasyev, as well as the illustrations of Russian artist Ivan Bilibin.

One of the stories that inspired me the most was the story of a firebird. I was fascinated by both the story itself and his visual representation. The bird appears as a magical, shining creature — a symbol of beauty, hope and transformation. The design that I created for the mural is based on this image. The composition rethinks the image of a firebird through my visual language, using synthetic forms, a simple but intense color palette and layout, which gives tribute to the graphic universe of Bilibin, but from a modern point of view. The work is done in flat colors, with clumsy contours and a strict, laconic composition-these are characteristic elements of my figure-geometric style. I devoted this painting to the inhabitants of Sudak, hoping that she would find a response in their culture and imagination, becoming for them something clear and joyful— the artist explained.

The guest from Spain complemented that Street art for him is a way to bring art directly into public space, to allow him to become part of the city’s everyday life and energy, it is an open dialogue with the environment and those who live here. In his opinion, murals are not just a painting of walls, but the creation of an effect, awakening curiosity and the opportunity to give people a moment of thought or game.

Artist and designer Dmitry Lamonov from St. Petersburg presented a job called «Teleport». “This is a combination of traditional Russian symbols and modern digital elements. Patterns, modern ligature and pixel graphics are organically intertwined in it, creating a visual language that speaks of the relationship between the past and the present ”— says the author. In its creation, an artist from the Republic of Abkhazia Garik Aslanyan helped him. On the mural in the form of a window with a mattress, symbols of different areas of art are displayed — theater, painting, music and cinema. It is these creative areas that will be presented at the festival of young art “Taurida.Art” this year. Mural appeared at the so-called Taurida station, located at the entrance to the festival venue-at the place where the participants and guests of the events of the art klaster are found.

Also, for passers-by conducted master classes on acrylic filling and painting of accessories, a lecture from artists about the art of streets and for everyone during the day, art ekscurities in urban murals were organized during the day, where they told the history of both previously created paintings-in a single artists invited by the artist, for three years of the festival, a festival was created 16 murals. For residents and guests of the city «Tavrid.Art» created Art card With all the ants, so that they can independently explore pike perch through the prism of street art.

The holiday ended in the Taurides art resident in the city center. There, the guests were expected by the evening musical and light show “Roots”, where traditional folk motifs met with the rhythms of our time, creating an atmosphere of immersion in the world of folklore and the cultural roots of the country. He was complemented by the performances of the Crimean folk folklore ensemble «Rus» and residents of the art klaster.

The idea of creating a festival was born three years ago, it was then that we first held a street culture festival On the birthday of the city. It is based on a global tendency to rethink urban space. Pike perch is ideal for street art and the creation of murals decorating many cities — both in Russia and abroad. This is an opportunity for the realization of the creative potential of talented young people whose work becomes real art objects and new points of attraction for tourists. The Festival «Streets» is a symbiosis of architecture, nature and art-said Ksenia Kruchinina, head of the Tavrida art scales service.

The Street Street Street Festival is held for the third time and traditionally becomes a holiday for the Sudak residents organized by the Tavrida art cluster. The walls of residential buildings and other architectural objects were previously adorned with murals by artists from Russia, Mexico and China.
