February 23 marks Defender of the Fatherland Day, a holiday inextricably linked with the military history of our country.
At all times, our soldiers faithfully and truly served the Fatherland, valiantly defended the freedom and independence of their native land.
Today, during a special military operation, they, as before, act professionally, courageously and selflessly, fulfill their assigned tasks in an exemplary manner, and reliably ensure the sovereignty and strategic security of the state.
With their unparalleled perseverance and determination, devotion to duty and daily exploits, military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and volunteers are step by step bringing Russia’s victory closer.
In turn, the state is taking comprehensive measures to maintain high combat readiness of formations and military units, systematically improve combat training, equip troops with modern weapons and military equipment, and implement social support programs for participants in a special military operation and members of their families.

In commemoration of Defender of the Fatherland Day, I ORDER:
On February 23, 2024 at 21.00 local time, perform festive fireworks with the involvement of military units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the capital of our Motherland, the hero city of Moscow, in the hero cities of Volgograd, Kerch, Murmansk, Novorossiysk, St. Petersburg (hero city Leningrad ), Sevastopol, Smolensk, Tula, as well as in the cities where the headquarters of military districts, fleets, combined arms armies and the Caspian Flotilla are stationed, thirty volleys of blank shots from artillery guns and launches of fireworks from fireworks installations in accordance with existing standards for the consumption of ammunition and fireworks on one artillery salute.
